A durable unpaved road depends on more than controlling dust at the surface. L&Q’s Integrated Road Stabilization approach addresses the road from the underlying soil through the finished driving surface.
The process combines TerraZyme soil conditioning and stabilization with a DUST HOLD PRO Surface Course. TerraZyme improves the workability, compaction, and stability of suitable soils throughout the roadbed. DUST HOLD PRO is then incorporated into the upper surface to create a stronger, more weather-resistant wear layer.
The result is an integrated road structure designed to improve strength, drainage, durability, and long-term surface performance.

HOW THE SYSTEM IS APPLIED
1. PREPARE THE ROADBED
The existing road is scarified and worked to the required treatment depth. Poor material, drainage problems, and areas that require reshaping are addressed before stabilization begins.
2. CONDITION THE SOIL WITH TERRAZYME
TerraZyme is mixed with water (generally at a 1:500 dilution), sprayed onto the soil bed, and incorporated throughout the treatment depth. The treated material is worked thoroughly and may be windrowed to accelerate drying before being returned to the roadbed. Depending on soil and weather conditions, approximately 24 to 36 hours may be allowed for moisture held within the clay structure to be released.
3. SHAPE AND COMPACT THE ROADBED
The TerraZyme-treated soil body is then brought to the appropriate moisture condition, shaped to establish the required crown and drainage, and compacted to create a dense, stable roadbed.
4. BUILD THE DUST HOLD PRO SURFACE COURSE
The finished roadbed is scarified to a controlled surface depth. DUST HOLD PRO is applied and incorporated into this upper layer, which is then reshaped and compacted while preserving the road's crown and drainage.
5. PROTECT THE FINISHED ROAD
The resulting structure combines a stabilized, compacted roadbed with a polymer-bound Surface Course designed to resist dust, erosion, moisture intrusion, and surface deterioration.
